I only started riding Motorcycles on the track in early 2008 to build my experience. I started off by taking part in ride days and practice days for a year, learning everything hands on by watching and following other riders.
In 2009 I competed in my first club championship, the Hartwell MCC Championship, to get some experience racing rather than just riding and I was surprised by a race win in my first 250 event and a championship win in my first season of racing. I also competed in the Australian 250cc Championship held by the MRRDA at Phillip Island and placed 7th overall.
In 2010 I repeated my championship win in the Hartwell MCC Championship in the 250cc category. In this year I also got to experience the support races in the MotoGP on our 600 Superstock bike and placed in the top 3 in the Hughie Hoare Memorial race for my class.
In 2011 I competed the Australian Superstock 600 category in the ASBK. The riding level was much higher in the national championship and it gave me a great opportunity to learn from a lot of experienced riders. I also got to compete my first proper endurance race, the Phillip Island 8 Hour. This was another great event to learn about a very different side to motorcycle racing and it has been important to my development as a rider.
For 2012 we are going to be competing the ASBK in the same 600 Superstock category but we will also take part in Victorian Road Race Championships were we aim for some really positive results.
