The Aprilia RS250 was bought as a street bike for Phil in 2005. This was his first road bike and a very new experience. Riding on weekends for fun it was eventually set aside with suspension problems in 2007 awaiting a conversion into a track bike. This took about a year and in early 2008 it was ready to run. It was taken out on ridedays and trackdays only in its first year on the track and after the bike and rider started showing some promising speed decided to run the bike in club racing in 2009.
For 2009 the bike pretty much remained the same as a stock production 250, only changing parts over as the bike required it. It took its first race victory on a wet Winton Motor Raceway and took the 250cc championship in its maiden year.
In 2010 we have had the success of winning the championship again though we had many mechanical problems with the bike. At round 4 we had a major seizure that has for now immoblized the Aprilia for the foreseeable future.
